Records, team spirit and passion: nic.at at the Salzburg Business Run Charity Challenge 2024
The 6th edition of the Salzburg Business Run Charity Challenge, organized by Commend International and SKIDATA, shattered all previous records. In 2024, participants including our nic.at team, once again showed incredible dedication and passion as they took to the starting line. A total of 28 teams from various industries and the public sector came together for a good cause. 694 participants covered an astounding 145,871 kilometers – a new record in the event's history. The € 41,000 raised will be donated to the Jojo Association, which supports children and adolescents in families affected by mental health issues.
United by a common goal
The numbers speak volumes: 60,063 kilometers were covered through running, 51,778 kilometers through walking, and 27,582 kilometers through hiking. Trail running (4,103 km) and Nordic walking (2,343 km) also saw strong participation. The winning teams, which logged the most distance per team member, were Industriellenvereinigung Salzburg, Stepa Farmkran and nic.at.
€ 41,000 raised for a good cause
Through the dedication and hard work of all participants, € 41,000 was collected for the Jojo Association. This vital funding will help provide support and new opportunities for children and adolescents whose parents face mental health challenges. Together, we transformed athletic efforts into meaningful assistance – a success that reaches far beyond the sporting event and brings positive change to the lives of many families in Salzburg.
At nic.at, we take great pride in our team's achievement of collecting an impressive 3,422 kilometers over the past few months, successfully defending our 3rd place from previous years.
This competition inspires everyone to stay active, whether through running, trail running, Nordic walking, walking, or hiking, all while accumulating kilometers for a worthy cause (2024: 24 cents per kilometer). The Charity Challenge not only fosters team spirit and promotes workplace health but also generates substantial donations for charitable initiatives – a unique blend of sports and social responsibility.
Social engagement is also a priority for us at nic.at, as we strive to make a positive impact in our community and encourage responsible behavior. That’s why we participated in the Charity Challenge for the sixth time, dedicating ourselves to collecting kilometers and making a difference.
